Our friend John Evans is taking some very difficult steps to deal with his horrible cancer and we want to do everything possible to lessen his difficulties.

Johnny is currently undergoing treatment for stage IV metastatic malignant melanoma. This terrible cancer has spread to his brain, stomach, intestines, and adrenal gland. He is 38 years old.

Johnny awoke April 23, 2012 with excruciating stomach pains and as a result, fainted. His girlfriend called 911 and he was rushed to the emergency room, where he fainted again. Emergency surgery was performed to a massive amount of fluid from around his heart. After 2 weeks between 2 different hospitals and many tests, the result was melanoma. The doctors are still unsure as to where this began.

Johnny started with full-brain radiation, followed by chemotherapy. The doctors have exhausted 2 chemotherapy drugs that they hoped would help but they didn’t. He is now undergoing a third chemotherapy to help his quantity of life and keep his cancer from growing. The steps in this journey have been extremely difficult for him. He has been in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time with various complications, numerous blood transfusions, surgery, etc. He still has a great spirit and we are doing all we can to keep it that way. Johnny even proposed to his long-time girlfriend on Christmas, who is a breast cancer survivor of 4 years. Her steps through cancer have aided in Johnny’s understanding of this awful disease. We all hope they will marry someday.

Johnny has not been able to work since all this began - quite a step to adjust for a hard working/always working guy. Medical bills, personal bills, and general cost of living are quickly overwhelming him. His family, friends, and loved ones have been a huge support but these economic times are difficult for all.

We would greatly appreciate any donation possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Johnny and his struggle. If you are unable to provide a charitable donation, we ask you to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he takes steps though this journey. We sincerely thank you for your consideration and time.
